“When I Rise” Barbara Smith Conrad Documentary Featured at SXSW

When I Rise is a powerful new documentary about Barbara Smith Conrad, a gifted University of Texas music student who became a target of racial discrimination and ultimately ascended to the heights of international opera. An official selection of the South by Southwest Film Festival, When I Rise will be screened twice during SXSW.  Tickets are available to the public about 15 minutes prior to screening time (pending available seating). The single admission ticket price is $10 for all SXSW screenings.

Students selected to become peer educators will receive specialized training in health topics, gain experience facilitating classes and workshops, and conduct outreach on campus. Peer Educato…rs serve the UT community by promoting healthy choices and make a positive impact on their peers. Applicants can choose from one of three peer education programs: Alcohol and Drug Education, Healthy Sexuality and Nutrition.
