NOMINATIONS DUE DECEMBER 11, 2009
The President and the awards committee are now accepting nominations for the 2010 University of Texas at Austin Outstanding Staff Awards and Outstanding Supervisor Awards. The award amounts are as follows:
- Outstanding Staff Awards
30 awards of $1,500 each
- Outstanding Supervisor Awards
2 awards of $1,500 each
Many staff members and supervisors make invaluable contributions to the university’s continued success. The Outstanding Staff Awards and Outstanding Supervisor Awards recognize these important efforts.

Who is Eligible for Nomination?
Staff members must have been employed with UT Austin for at least 20 hours per week from September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2009. Retirees and temporary employees are not eligible. Employees may not have received the same award in the last five years.
Outstanding Staff Award Nominees must…
- Have a significant impact on the university through
- outstanding dedication;
- competence;
- conscientious performance;
- excellent customer service; and,
- ingenuity.
- Contribute to and demonstrate a commitment to the university’s core purpose and values;
- Have significantly improved customer service or increased customer satisfaction for specific university customers;
- Have significantly improved a work process or system or have significantly increased the efficiency of an operation or unit;
- Have demonstrated an exceptional ability to foster collaboration, communication, and cooperation among colleagues and university constituents; or,
- Have performed at a level above and beyond normal job requirements.
Outstanding Supervisor Award Nominees must…
- Be currently functioning in a supervisory capacity;
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership ability;
- Contribute to and demonstrate a commitment to the university’s core purpose and values;
- Maintain open lines of communication within the department and throughout the university;
- Create a positive and motivating work environment;
- Encourage professional development;
- Demonstrate fairness and equity in resolving issues; and,
- Remain open to feedback concerning his or her performance.
Nomination Guidelines
Any staff member, faculty member, or student can nominate an eligible staff member for an award.
To nominate a staff member for an award, submit the online nomination form [UT EID required] by December 11, 2009. To be accepted, all nominations must be submitted online no later than 5:00 pm on that date.
Recipients of the Outstanding Staff Awards and the Outstanding Supervisor Awards will be notified in mid-April and formally recognized at The President’s Staff Awards on May 6, 2010.
